About Me

Hello,

My name is Danielle Serocki and I’m a Mass Communication Specialist in the U.S. Navy. In other words, my job is to help share the Navy’s story through photography, videography, writing , and graphic design. I’ve been active duty for 3 years now and have loved every minute I’ve gotten to learn new skills and adventure to amazing places. I had never picked up a camera before I joined but now photography is my favorite thing to do. Portraits are my main focus, but I’m always excited to venture into other things. Whatever the concept, I’m open to helping you capture those special moments. I’ve gotten to tell the Navy’s story, but I’m hoping you’ll let me share yours too.

My Experience

My first time picking up a camera was in Mass Communication Specialist “A” school. There I was taught the basics of photography and how to capture images that will tell a story. After I graduated, I went to the fleet and got further on the job training. I’ve attended a DoD Photojournalism workshop where I really learned how to tell a story using only photographs. I try to incorporate those teachings into my photography everyday. In 2019, I was on a 7 month deployment aboard the USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) where I was the only MC on the ship. Sharing what the ship did on deployment was solely up to me. During the middle of the deployment, I was fortunate enough to work with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Female Engagement Team and capture their mission in Jordan. I’ve gotten to see amazing things and experience amazing opportunities to better my photography skills during my time in the military. In the fall of 2020, I’ll be attending Syracuse University to be apart of the Military Photojournalism program. I look forward to continuously growing my skills and talent.
